Thanksgiving Turkey Stuffing?
I will be cooking for twenty people. I am pretty good cook but I have never done turkey stuffing. I am also barbecuing the turkey on my weber. I need the best recipe for a turkey stuffing. Please help.
old fashioned herb stuffing is THE best
buy 3 loaves of bakery italian bread and tear into bite size pieces. Put in a disposable aluminum roaster pan and let sit overnite to get a little dry and stale.
In 2 sticks of butter or margarine in a large sauce pot saute for 10 minutes 2 stalks of minced celery and 2 medium minced onions
Add 3 cups canned chicken broth & simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning& let cool to touch. When cooled, pour over torn bread & mix thoroughly using your hands. This can be made the evening before and refrigerated till ready to bake. Or baked ahead of time and just reheated., whatever suits your time schedule. When ready to bake cover will foil and bake in a 325 degree oven for 1 hour till heated through. When mixing with your hands, if it seems too dry just add a little water at a time until nice and moist but not WET. This stuffing is the best old fashioned you’ll eat and i promise you will make it again and again. Also excellent with pork chops, chicken, leftovers…enjoy…Happy Thanksgiving..
